I met Dorothy Bode four years ago when I was teaching Spanish to the homeschool co-op where her children attended. I'm not even sure how many children she and Robert had at that time, but by looking at my class list I was almost certain they were an adoptive family since they added a child to their family exactly every 11-12 months. During the two years that I taught at the co-op the Bodes added a few more children to their family and they oozed the gospel in all they said and did. They oozed the gospel for the cause of the orphan. They oozed Christ. And they were real people loving real children with real needs. And they did it again and again. Robert and Dorothy just added their eleventh child to their family this Christmas. Some of their children were born to them, others adopted by them, all are precious creations of the Father and an incredible reminder of the love that unites a family.
Our children now attend the same homeschool co-op with the Bode children. We attend church with the Bodes, and this fall in our grief and hurt, Nic and I were encouraged to know and feel the normalcy of others who share our same passion and heart for the orphan. The kind of passion that would reach out again and again to children in need. The kind of passion that turns your world upside down for Christ. Dorothy and Robert are those kind of people. We are honored and encouraged to have known you and so sad to see you go.
If you read Colombian Brewed and are interested in other blogs on adoption, multi-racial families, special needs adoptions, large families, Christ-centered living, homeschooling, or parenting, I highly recommend checking out Dorothy's blog once she and her family get settled in Colorado.

I have been following both of your blogs, and I had no idea that you two knew each other! You have been a great encouragement to my life, Megan, and I am in awe of the woman you are in Christ.
