Psalm 18:1-3, 16-19I love you, O LORD, my strength.
The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer,
my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge,
my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
I call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised,
and I am saved from my enemies.He sent from on high, he took me;
he drew me out of many waters.
He rescued me from my strong enemy
and from those who hated me,
for they were too mighty for me.
They confronted me in the day of my calamity,
but the LORD was my support.
He brought me out into a broad place;
he rescued me, because he delighted in me.
I am always amazed when I reflect on all that God has done for me and I am still coming to grips with my understanding of how much God loves me, how He delights in me. This truth from His Word profoundly affects my all of my relationships, but especially my parenting. I want our children to know that we delight in them and that we desire for them to know the delight and love of God. This week we have been able to delight in God's creation and the "broad place" that He has brought us to as He has provided our home for us here, together.
The Shoveling Team:

Hugo: heading up the crew
Maria: service with a smile

Serena: wanted the biggest shovel

Aliah: her job was to keep the dog from running in front of the shovels since we didn't have enough shovels for everyone. A very important job since she had to throw the tennis ball over and over for a very happy dog.

Corinn: would have been content to eat all the snow instead of shovel it
Noah: good technique, still working on shovel and snow placement
Adventure Sledding in our Front Yard:

And Winter Tree Climbing?

If you look real close you can see two kids up in that tree.

Miraculously no one was hurt during any of our outdoor adventure activities and everyone quickly returned safely inside as soon as I headed that direction to make hot cocoa. The adventures never end and my heart is delighted!
