Six Years Ago...

May 4, 2005

Six years ago today Maria Clemencia, director of the Ayudame orphanage in Bogota, Colombia, placed our first daughter into our arms. The emotions and memories of that day come flooding back as if they were yesterday.

Easter 2011

And in a blink it seems like the days and years have flown by. Our precious daughter is growing up and when I look at her now, the emotions of awe and gratitude to God and joy are overwhelmingly similar to that day six years ago. He has done great things for us.

May 3, 2011 - Corinn & Miss Kristi, her dance teacher

Corinn, God has given you a joyful and compassionate heart that loves Him. You are growing up to be a beautiful little girl - beautiful in your heart toward others. I love to watch you read, dance, sing and play the piano because you do it with so much joy. We are thankful that God brought you to our family for His good purpose in each of our lives! We pray that God would continue to guide and shape you as you follow steadfastly after Him. We love you!

Corrine is such a special girl! I remember first hearing of her arrival into your family. God is so good to have brought you together.

Hi Megan,

I've been lurking on your blog for several months now -- maybe left a message once? Anyway, just wanted to thank you for your messages of faith. They have really meant a lot to me, especially as we have gone through a recent very difficult season with the younger of our two daughters whom we adopted from Colombia through older-child, sibling group adoption. Things have calmed down some and we have some great days, but then some very hard ones too involving many of the behaviors that you have written about! Anyway, as I said, I really appreciate your words and your example. I ordered the Elisabeth Elliott book yesterday and really look forward to reading it. Thank you again.
