Spilled Milk

Today's lunch was not unlike any other lunch during the past 16 months in that it included at least two glasses of spilled milk. It also included some sticky spilled allergy and sinus medicine for a child who was playing "Statue of Liberty" with it before drinking it.

It was just another one of those opportunities that I wrote about this morning. And opportunity to pray quickly for patience, an opportunity to teach (again) why we don't swing our arms around wildly at the table, an opportunity to re-teach why food or medicine (especially sticky food) is not the best "torch" of choice when playing "Statue of Liberty", an opportunit to be thankful that I get to teach my precious children these lessons and clean up one more spill.

There is no use crying over spilled milk or even over a rotten rug beneath the dining room table from the sheer amount of spilled milk. There is just no time for that when there is so much for which to be thankful, even in the hard times.
