Psalm 143:5-6, 8-9
I remember the days of old;
I meditate on all that you have done;
I ponder the work of your hands.
I stretch out my hands to you;
my soul thirsts for you like a parched land.
Let me hear in the morning of your steadfast love,
for in you I trust.
Make me know the way I should go,
for to you I lift up my soul.
Like every summer, I am amazed at how quickly the days slip by and how busy we can be enjoying them! In the middle of events (surgery, soccer, company, projects, field trips, play dates, and trips to the lake and farm) we have found time for relaxing and refreshing. Summer is a different pace from our academic year. I love summer. I even love the high heat and humidity, the sticky sunscreen and smelly bug spray, the sweaty and dirty end of every day filled with play and exploration. Ah, I love summer! I find that during summer I have more time to reflect, remember, dream, and pray. My time reflecting causes me to thirst more and more after God, to seek and rejoice in His steadfast love. I pray that you are finding time to remember, meditate, ponder and thirst after God and His steadfast love for you this summer!
