De su plenitud todos hemos recibido gracia sobre gracia.
John 1:16
This will be a short update now without pictures because I am stealing a few minutes while four children are watching a short video and one child is taking a much needed nap. However, I know that the suspense is great for many of you back home, so I didn't want to keep you waiting any longer. Pictures will follow when we get them uploaded - and when we have time to get back to the blog. I know, not very fun!
Today has most certainly been a day full of one blessing after another. The children are more beautiful than in their pictures, and as sweet and as vivid as their personalities were described in the paperwork we received. Our official meeting went very well and we got a few more questions answered before meeting the children. Meeting the children went extremely well. They ran to us and hugged us right away. They hugged our little ones who have also taken to the big kids right away as well. Communication has not been a problem. The kids are so very sweet and loving. They have been trained well to say thank you after everything. After meeting the children briefly I left Nic alone with all five children to meet with the social worker and psychologist for about 10 minutes. What a way to break him in to parenting five children!
Lunch went well. Miraculously, no one spilled and two children even cleaned their plates. All the children wanted to change into clothing that we brought for them. They are all so grateful and excited to have things from us.
We have played playdough and Polly Pockets (thanks, Lorraine!) and the kids have all shared and had so much fun together. They all want their pictures taken together with Nic and I and with the little ones. They are so sweet and they want to know when they get to go home to the US.
One blessing after another - and it is by God's grace.
Pictures to follow in due time!

I've been praying for you all today, so glad to know that things have gone well so far. Dying to see pictures! But I know how hard it is to steal away time (and sometimes to get the internet and/or computer working well enough). We'll continue praying that the paperwork end of things go smoothly too.

Hip, hip, hooray! Congratulations!
I started crying when I read how sweet your time with your new children has been. The wait is over, and I'm so happy for you all! We will continue to send many, many prayers to you in Columbia!
I have been checking all day and waiting to hear about your amazing day. Can't wait to see the happy faces.

Your family has been in my thoughts and prayers all day. So glad to hear that the initial meeting went well. There is just nothing like meeting your children for the first time! It's jus indescribable. May God continue to bless your family as you grow together.

Congratulations! I am so happy for all of you and can't wait to see pictures!
Thanks so much for a quick update. I've been stalking the blog ALL day!! You guys are on my mind and in my prayers. So glad all is going well. Can't wait to see pictures of those sweet faces. We talked to our kiddos again this morning. Our Leandro turned 5 yesterday. The longing to be together was intense on both ends of the phone.
Blessings,
Susan

Reading this blog has really made me excited about adoption. My wife and I are also Christians living in the Twin Cities who are hoping to adopt a group of siblings from Colombia soon! When we shared this with our friends, the Schwartzendrubers, they pointed us to your blog. I am so glad to hear that things are going great for you so far.
Olson Family,
We thank God for the blessing of the sweet uniting of your family. I’m sure it is almost impossible to put words down on how it all felt that moment for each of you. Thank you for sharing this special time in your lives with all of us. You have touched our hearts!
Oh Megan I am in TEARS! Those pictures are just touching and beautiful. I could be extra-emotional because this was the week (2 years ago) I traveled for Mikey.... but I never get tired of seeing families formed thru adoption! THANK you for sharing your journey ~ you've definately made my day today!
WOW! Your pictures said it ALL! A most beautiful picture of the LOVE of God right before my eyes! Only God...using those with a heart like His! Praying you have many more blessings to come in your first week as a family of 7!!! Kristi (mom to Isabel and Silas)
Okay, now I am sitting here crying my eyes out all over my keyboard!! I am so happy for you all - you are a beautiful family and your joy is just bursting in your posts!!!!
