Highlights from Scotland

King Nic at Doune Castle

Doune Castle - built for the Duke of Albany, a favorite hunting lodge, of great strategic importance because it controlled the route between the highlands and the lowlands. Also, Doune Castle was the site where portions of Monty Python and the Quest for the Holy Grail was filmed.

Megan near the entrance to the tower in the castle where they keep the Honor's of Scotland (Scotland's Crown Jewels.) We were able to see the crown, sceptor, sword and stone - they are kept in Edinburgh Castle.

Edinburgh Castle

The John Knox tenement - John Knox was a contemporary/student of John Calvin.

St. Giles Cathedral - The Church of Scotland (Presbyterian) where John Knox preached.
St. Giles is just a few blocks down the Royal Mile from Edinburgh Castle.

Former Castle Hill School located just a block from Edinburgh Castle, now the Scotch Whisky Heritage Center.

Linlithgow Palace

The Royal Mile runs from Edinburgh to the Holyrood Palace.
